Johnny and I did a float trip on the Yellow river in NE Iowa. It was pretty cool. The Yellow is big enough to float with a canoe or kayaks. Yet it is cold enough to hold trout. It has a reputation for big fish, and when we saw the runs and holes of this river, it was easy to believe. We landed a few rainbows and browns, but neither of us did real well. Nevertheless, it was clear that this river holds some beasts. We fished streamers and hoppers.
The kayak provides great freedom to discover new places, congratulations on the catch.
